Tanzania is home to famous parks like the Serengeti, where millions of animals move during the Great Migration, and the Ngorongoro Crater, where you can see the Big Five: lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, and rhinos. You can also visit Tarangire, known for its big groups of elephants, or Lake Manyara, where you might spot tree-climbing lions and pink flamingos.
What makes Tanzania special is that you can enjoy both exciting safaris and relaxing beach time in Zanzibar, all in one trip. You’ll travel in a 4×4 safari vehicle with a friendly, professional guide who knows where to find animals and how to keep you safe.

Top Tanzania Safari Destinations
Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park is one of the most famous wildlife parks in the world. Located in northern Tanzania, it covers over 14,000 square kilometres and is home to a huge variety of animals, including lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, cheetahs, and hyenas. The Serengeti is most well-known for the Great Wildebeest Migration, where over a million wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles travel across the plains each year. This natural event is one of the most exciting things to see on a Tanzania safari.
Depending on the time of year, you may see dramatic river crossings, baby animals being born, or large predators hunting. The best areas for game viewing are the Central Serengeti, which is great year-round, and the Northern Serengeti, which is best from July to October during the Mara River crossings.
You can explore the park on game drives, or even take a hot air balloon safari for a bird’s eye view. The Serengeti offers everything a wildlife lover could dream of, open plains, rich wildlife, beautiful sunsets, and unforgettable adventure.

Ngorongoro Crater
The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most special places for a safari in Tanzania. It is the world’s largest unbroken volcanic caldera, formed millions of years ago when a giant volcano collapsed. The crater is about 600 meters deep and 19 kilometres wide, creating a natural home for many wild animals.
Inside the crater, you can see a large variety of wildlife, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, and hippos. It is also one of the best places in Tanzania to spot the rare black rhino, which is very hard to find in other parks. The beautiful lake inside the crater, Lake Magadi, often attracts flamingos and other birds.
Ngorongoro is part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which also protects the land of the Maasai people. It’s one of the few places where people and wildlife live together in harmony.
Because the animals stay inside the crater year-round, you can visit any time of the year. A game drive here gives you a great chance to see many animals in a single day, all surrounded by amazing views.
Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park is one of Tanzania’s hidden safari gems, especially known for its large herds of elephants and ancient baobab trees. Located about two hours from Arusha, this park is perfect for both short safaris and longer trips combined with other parks like Serengeti or Ngorongoro.
During the dry season (June to October), thousands of animals gather around the Tarangire River, the only source of water in the area. This makes it easy to spot wildlife such as elephants, lions, zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, and many types of antelope. The park is also a great place to see leopards, though they can be shy.
Bird lovers will enjoy Tarangire too, it’s home to over 500 bird species, including colourful kingfishers, hornbills, and lovebirds.
Tarangire is less crowded than other parks, offering a peaceful and authentic safari experience. The beautiful landscape, with wide open grasslands, rocky hills, and towering baobabs, creates a perfect backdrop for game drives and photos. If you want to see elephants up close and enjoy a quiet safari, Tarangire is the place to be.
