Best Time to Visit

The best time for a Tanzania safari is during the dry season (late June to October), ideal for wildlife viewing as animals gather around water sources, and the Great Migration features dramatic river crossings in the Serengeti (July-August). The short dry season (January-February) offers clear skies and fewer crowds, perfect for photography. The green season (March-May) brings lush landscapes and lower rates, though light rains may occur. For the Ngorongoro Crater, year-round access ensures excellent wildlife sightings, with February being prime for wildebeest calving in the Serengeti.

Tour Plan

In the morning, after breakfast, begin your road transfer to Serengeti National Park. The drive starts on a well-paved road and crosses the gently rolling Maasai plains, which are dotted with scattered acacia trees. As you travel past the Great East African Rift Valley and into the Ngorongoro Highlands, there will be multiple viewpoints where you can see Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro Crater.

While crossing Ngorongoro, you may encounter various wild animals as well as the Maasai people, who coexist with wildlife in the area. You’ll notice them in their colorful attire, walking along the roadside, riding bicycles, herding cattle, and driving donkey carts. This journey allows you to pass through their homesteads and learn about their traditions and customs.

You will stop for a picnic lunch at Ngorongoro, providing you with a chance to enjoy a tasty meal while surrounded by nature. Continue with a game drive en route to Serengeti, arriving in the evening.

Once you arrive at the Serengeti, check in at your lodge for a hearty dinner and an overnight stay.

Meals: Lunch & Dinner

Embark on an exhilarating full-day guided game drive through the breathtaking landscapes of Serengeti National Park, the largest and one of the most iconic parks in Tanzania. Experience the park’s incredible diversity of habitats from vast short grass plains and expansive savannahs to dense bush, tranquil swamps, majestic hills, and shimmering lakes and swamps.

Marvel at the striking Kopjes that punctuate the grassy savannah, providing prime vantage points to spot the park’s exciting wildlife, including formidable predators. Depending on the season of your visit, you may witness the awe-inspiring migration of thousands of animals, a testament to the Serengeti’s rich ecological tapestry.

During the short rainy season from November to December, herds migrate from the northern hills to the expansive plains in the south, while the longer rainy season from April to June sees them return to the north. This dynamic ebb and flow of life is intricately tied to the annual rainfall, and our expert guides are adept at navigating to where the animals are most plentiful.

Pause for a delightful picnic lunch beneath the shade of an acacia tree, soaking in panoramic views that stretch endlessly to the horizon. After lunch, gear up for an enchanting evening game drive. As the sun begins to set, the warm light casts a magical glow over the landscape, and cooler temperatures invite a fresh burst of activity among both predators and prey. This magical hour is often when the most thrilling encounters occur, making it an unforgettable part of your safari experience. Overnight stay at your Lodge.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

After breakfast, drive to Lake Eyasi, a 2.5 hrs drive for a unique cultural experience. Visit the Hadzabe tribe Tanzania's last remaining hunter gatherers and join them in a traditional hunt. Also meet the Datoga blacksmiths who still forge tools and jewelry, and later Return to Karatu in the afternoon.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

After enjoying a hearty breakfast, you’ll drive down a steep and narrow road into the crater. The lush forests will give way to wide open savannahs. Here, the wildlife is truly amazing! It is almost certain that you might spot the Big Five lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard in just a few hours. You’re also likely to see warthogs, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, and many of the over 500 bird species that call this area home.

After a thrilling morning of exhilarating game viewing in the heart of the wildlife-rich landscape, you’ll pause to enjoy a delightful picnic lunch by the serene shores of the lake. Surrounded by the sounds of nature and the gentle lapping of water, this is the perfect moment to savor delicious local cuisine.

As the afternoon unfolds, you’ll embark on a captivating game drive, winding your way back from the majestic crater. The golden sunlight casts a warm glow over the picturesque scenery, offering one last chance to witness the remarkable wildlife before your journey concludes.

In the late afternoon, you’ll begin your scenic road transfer to Arusha, where you will arrive in the evening, bringing to a close your unforgettable four day adventure in the breath-taking landscapes of Tanzania. Each moment has been filled with excitement, beauty, and cherished memories.
